Ingredients
- Butter (amount not recorded in the original, see note)
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp flour
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 3 cups old fashioned oats
- 2 cups chocolate chips (dark chocolate chips work well)
Directions
- Place the butter in a large bowl and beat until creamy. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar and beat until thoroughly combined. Add the eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup and stir until well combined.
- In a separate, medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until completely combined. Add the oats and chocolate chips, stirring until thoroughly combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Bake for 12-13 minutes.
Notes
- The original recipe's ingredient list didn't specify a butter amount even though the directions call for creaming it, most similar cookie recipes of this size use around 1 cup (2 sticks). Worth confirming before you make it.
