Mummy's Cinnamon Rolls
Uses the dough from Mummy's Buns.
Ingredients
Rolls:
- 1/4 of the Mummy's Buns dough, after the first rise
- Softened butter
- Sugar, brown or white, your preference
- Cinnamon, to your taste
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp butter
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla or maple flavoring
- Milk, as needed
- Chopped nuts, optional
Directions
- Take 1/4 of the dough after the first rise and roll it out into a 15x12 rectangle.
- Spread with softened butter. Sprinkle with sugar, then with cinnamon.
- Roll the rectangle, starting at the short side. Slice into 1-inch pieces. Place the slices cut side down on a greased cookie sheet.
- Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
- For the glaze, combine the sugar, butter, salt, and flavoring. Add a small amount of milk to thin to spreading consistency. Glaze the rolls while still hot and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
Notes
- The full Mummy's Buns recipe makes 6 dozen buns or rolls. Using 1/3 of the recipe makes 2 dozen.
